24 years ago (1998), Mr. Eduardo Gaitán Uribe began traveling to California, where he spent between 60 to 90 days a year searching for the best grapes to import and sell in Mexico.
It was his dream to become a grape grower. He stored his fruit in a small fridge and slowly started to develop his business. He continued traveling for a few years until, in 2002, he had the opportunity to buy the first ranch for his grape production. In partnership with his brother Miguel Ángel Gaitán Uribe, they acquired the first of what would be four ranches.
A year later, in 2003, Mr. Lalo and his brother acquired the second ranch; In 2004, their business was able to obtain the third ranch; a year later, in 2005, they bought the fourth and last ranch of what is now Golden State Grapes.
